HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County sales tax revenue for August jumped significantly from the same period last year.
According to figures released from Treasurer Brenda Kowitz, sales tax for the month totaled $412,980. That compares to $378,690 in 2018. The figure is the second-highest total for the year. Sales tax numbers reflect shopping trends for the month of June.
Total revenue for the year is at $3,055,444. That means the county is still on pace to surpass last year’s sales tax total of $4,411,414. Sales tax revenue for the county has surpassed the previous year’s total six times this year.
