WICHITA, Kan. — Hutchinson (4-17) defeated Wichita West (4-17) 55-49 in Monday night’s play-in game.
The Salthawks trailed the Pioneers throughout most of the game and were down six points with seven minutes to play.
Tate Webster was a huge factor in the Salthawks’ success, he scored 25 points. He was the only player from Hutchinson to score in double digits.
Free throws were a big factor in the game. The Salthawks scored 15 from the line.

With the play-in victory, Hutchinson will face one-seed Washburn Rural in Topeka on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
