HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Salthawks won their first game of the season against the Garden City Buffaloes 28-24.

Hutchinson and Garden City had a steady game as each team scored two touchdowns in the first half.

The Buffaloes failed on both of their extra-point attempts and trailed the Salthawks 14-12 at the break.

QB Trevor Rhoades succeeded in throwing two TD passes to keep the Salthawks ahead.
