Secretary of Agriculture to speak at Chamber breakfast

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Chamber of Commerce will host its annual tribute breakfast to agriculture Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 7 a.m. in the Atrium Hotel and Conference Center.

The Farm Focus Family breakfast takes time to recognize all Reno County farmers who can attend the breakfast at no charge. This award began in 1985. Since then, 98 families in Reno County have been recognized. The speaker for this year is Secretary of Agriculture Mike Beam.

The Chamber’s Agri-Business Committee will also be awarding a Reno County Agri-Business of the Year. This award is intended to honor Chamber member agri-businesses in Reno County — defined as businesses collectively associated with the production and distribution of agricultural products. The cost to attend is $12 for members and $22 for non-members.
