HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Ron Sellers, who served on the Hutchinson City Council for eight years — including two years as mayor — and is the Vice-Chairman of the local sign company Luminous Neon, announced he is running for Reno County Commission — District One. 

Sellers, a lifelong resident of Reno County, is running as a Republican. If elected, he would replace Dan Deming, who is not running again after two, four-year terms.

He also served several elected terms on the Hutchinson Community College Board of Trustees and even served as chairman.

“I feel I can serve the county well, both from experience and a knowledge of rural issues since my family has Reno County farming interest,” Sellers said.

Sellers says he supports current County Administrator Gary Meagher and will work for a strict accounting of tax dollars; he will always be available to hear concerns of local citizens. Sellers also believes in term limits and would not serve more than two terms on the commission.

Sellers and his wife, Ann, live in Hutchinson and have three children.

Sellers will be running against Chris Knowles and Rudy Rodriquez in the primary later this summer.
