HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy plant in Hutchinson continues to gain some momentum. The wind turbine maker landed another project in Texas.

SG will supply ENGIE North America Inc. with 76 of the SWT 2.6-120 platform turbines totaling nearly 200 MW.

The project will be located in Schleicher County, near San Angelo, Texas. The deal also includes a 10-year long-term service and maintenance agreement. The contract was signed in March.

The turbines for this project are expected for delivery in July 2018. The Live Oak Wind Project is targeted for commercial operation by year-end. The blades will be manufactured at the company’s Fort Madison, Iowa, facility. The nacelles and hubs will be assembled in Hutchinson.

In Texas, Siemens Gamesa has over 2,000 wind turbines installed, totaling more than 4 GW of installed capacity. In total, the company has provided turbines for more than 150 project sites with an output capacity of more than 18 GW in the U.S.
