HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A 34-year-old South Hutchinson man already facing charges now has three new cases.

Lucas Mobley was arrested around 4:50 a.m. Thursday after an officer spotted him driving from Nickerson and knew he had outstanding warrants. That led to a search of his vehicle where officers allegedly found methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia in a black bag.

In court, he was told of the potential charges for the latest arrest, but was also read charges in two new cases. Both include the sale of methamphetamine in an amount between 3.5 and 100 grams. Both of the cases are from May of last year and have a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison.

In the first case, Mobley and 60-year-old Murray Mobley are each accused of pointing a gun at officers. They were ordered to drop their weapons; after repeated warnings — both finally did.

In that case, Mobley is also accused of being in possession of a modified shotgun and other gun parts, as well as drugs, including 4.5 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia.

Bonds for the latest cases are over $80,000.
