A 74-year-old South Hutchinson woman was taken by Reno County E-M-S to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center after a two vehicle crash just east of the intersection of 17th & Poplar.

Both vehicles were westbound on 17th when the vehicle driven by Carolee Neufeld of South Hutchinson struck the back of a vehicle driven by 83-year-old Donald Phillips of Hutchinson. Neufeld’s vehicle ended up jumping the curb and ended up against a small tree.

She was initially listed as being in serious condition, but later was not coded at all, was awake and was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center to be checked out. Phillips, complained of possible back pain, but was not treated.

Police did close down the west-bound lane of 17th, but some still tried to get through.

The accident occurring around 11:45 a-m Monday morning.
