Southeast Kansas farmer dies in combine accident

YATES CENTER (AP) – Woodson County authorities say a 66-year-old farmer has died in an accident during wheat harvest.

Undersheriff Glen Smith says the accident occurred Tuesday afternoon in rural Yates Center.

David Stockebrand was cutting wheat with his son, who was unloading a combine. When he finished, the son began to drive away and the father was caught under the rear wheel of the combine.
