PARSONS – Two more individuals entered guilty pleas this week to charges of Medicaid fraud and were ordered to repay more than $13,000.

39-year-old Teresa Corber, of Independence, entered a guilty plea Monday to two counts of unlawful acts relating to the Medicaid program, one count of making false information, one count of making a false claim to the Medicaid program, and one count of theft. All of the charges were felonies. Corber’s plea agreement requires her to repay $8,883.10 to the Kansas Medicaid Program.

58-year-old Molly Musgrove, also of Independence, entered a guilty plea Tuesday to one count of unlawful acts relating to the Medicaid program, one count of making a false claim to the Medicaid program, and one count of theft. All charges were felonies. As part of the plea, Musgrove is required to repay $4,271.60 to the Kansas Medicaid Program.

The pleas were accepted by Judge Robert J. Fleming in Labette County District Court.

The charges stemmed from an investigation into home health care billings by several employees and independent care attendants who used Southeast Kansas Independent Living Center (SKIL) as their payroll agent. Corber submitted claims as a personal care attendant for Medicaid beneficiaries, but never provided services. Musgrove, a Medicaid beneficiary, submitted paperwork claiming to have received a bathroom remodel, but the remodel never took place.

Last week, 57-year-old Robert Hicks of Independence, and 27-year-old Jessica Hodge, of Des Moines, Iowa, entered guilty pleas to related charges.

Six other individuals involved have been charged in the investigation. Those cases remain pending.
