Sterling to host annual Thanksgiving Dinner

STERLING, Kan. — Officials in Sterling are preparing for the annual Thanksgiving Day Community Dinner.

They expect between 600 and 800 diners on Thanksgiving day. The meal will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sterling College cafeteria, located in the Student Union.

The menu includes turkey and dressing, mashed and sweet potatoes and gravy, ham, green beans, relishes, french bread, dessert, and drinks. Diners can also bring their desserts and salads.

Although cash donations will be accepted, organizers want to emphasize that the meal is free to all.

They also ask that anyone coming bring other goods, including soap, detergents and paper products for the area Food Banks.

They say meals will also be delivered to shut-ins.
