BUHLER, Kan. — It’s been a little bit of an inconvenience, but classes have been running as normal in the Buhler School
system despite some work still going on in the new Plum Creek elementary and the renovated Prairie Hills Middle School.
The USD 313 School Board heard a short update on the work at the two buildings during last night’s meeting. According to Kelly Nelson, the Gym Floor at Plum Creek is still not installed, but should be soon. Until then, the PE classes are being held outdoors and, if the weather is bad, there is a vacant classroom where activities can be held. There is also some landscaping yet to be done at Plum Creek as well as the Prairie Hills property.
Other work at Prairie Hills include more work on the gym floor, installation of floor trim and white boards in the classrooms. Most of the work should be completed by the end of the week, according to Nelson.
The two buildings were the major parts of a $44.9 million bond issue approved by Buhler USD 313 residents.
