WICHITA, Kan. — A man arrested in connection with the holdup of the Hutchinson Main Street Dillons store in March is now awaiting trial on a single charge of bank robbery in U.S. District Court.

Court records show 25-year-old Austan Kinnaird is set for trial on July 12 after his arrest in connection with the armed robbery of the Intrust Bank at 9450 W. Harry in Wichita April 29. He was arrested a day later in Wichita.

Kinnaird is also thought to be connected to the robbery of the Hutchinson Dillons store on March 11 and two other Dillons Stores in Wichita in April. According to Hutchinson Police, an indictment on those cases could be coming in the next week or two.

The Hutchinson Dillons store robbery occurred around 11 a.m. when a man walked into the business, stated he had a gun, and demanded money. He then fled on foot to the west of the store.

The robbery forced Hutchinson USD 308 to place HMS-8 in lockdown while authorities searched for the suspect.
