HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two people arrested for allegedly being in a stolen truck from Haven were back in court for the reading of formal charges.

Maurice and Ashley Miles were allegedly spotted driving the stolen truck back on April 30 and a traffic stop was made along U.S 50.

Maurice Miles is charged with possession of stolen property and driving while being an habitual violator.

Ashley Miles is charged in two cases, one is for being in possession of stolen property on April 28, that being a Dodge pickup belonging to another man. The second case goes back to April 30, when she was in the stolen truck with Maurice Miles.

Miles was paroled for his other convictions back in February. According to the Kansas Department of Corrections, he’s listed as an absconder from that parole. He is well known for stealing vehicles with at least 25 convictions.

With the charges filed against the two, their cases will now move to a waiver-status docket.
