HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Time is running out for those wanting to help with KWBW’s Project Concern. The campaign will help the less fortunate at Thanksgiving. The deadline is noon on Monday, Nov. 25.

The Salvation Army will get 75% of the money raised to help less fortunate families have a nice Thanksgiving. Dillons gift cards are taken to the Salvation Army for distribution.

The other 25% of money raised is divided three ways. It is given to Friendship Meals, the Christian Soup Ministry and Emanuel Lutheran Church — for its community Thanksgiving meal.

As of Friday morning, the total is at $8,500. Last year, KWBW raised $15,000. That money helped 700 families and more than 2,000 people. The list of those in need is even greater this year.

KWBW will have staff in the south drive-thru at the 9th and Main studios Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Two turkeys will be taking last-minute donations. If you would like to donate Monday, you can do so without getting out of your car.

Donations can be made inside the 9th and Main studios as well.
