TOPEKA – A 46-year-old Topeka man has been sentenced to more than four years in federal prison for a firearms violation. Patrick M. Tracy, Jr., was sentenced to 50-months.

Tracy pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful possession of a firearm after a felony conviction. In his plea, he admitted that on Feb. 5, 2011, he and co-defendant Steven Allen Contee sold three shotguns to agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives who were working undercover.

Contee and Tracy met the agents in the parking lot at the Ramada Inn in Topeka, where Tracy delivered the guns, received the money from the agents and gave the money to Contee. Both Contee and Tracy were prohibited by federal law from possessing firearms because of prior felony convictions.

Co-defendant Steven Allen Contee was sentenced to seven years in federal prison.
