The Lyons Medical Center will be acquired by Rice County District Hospital as of January 1st, 2012.

The Hutchinson Clinic owns Lyons Medical Center until the first of the year, but talks of Rice County District Hospital taking ownership began in the late part of the summer, when a physician from the Lyons Medical Center left the practice for Hutchinson.

George Stover, the Chief Executive Officer of Rice County District Hospital, says they are trying to make the transition in ownership as seamless as possible, and the patients won’t see that many changes in their services. He said they do plan to transfer the Family Health Clinic that is currently in Rice County Hospital to the Lyons Medical Center.
