Trial For A Wichita Man Charged In Attack Of Haven Woman Scheduled to Begin Tuesday

A 27-year-old Wichita man charged with aggravated kidnapping, aggravated battery, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated burglary, and criminal threat is expected to go to trial in Reno County District Court Tuesday.

Mitchell Jack Jones III is alleged to have entered his ex-wife’s home in Haven back in April of last year and attacked her. She alleges he punched her in the face repeatedly causing her to suffer a broken jaw, as well as a black eye, and several other minor injuries.

She also tells police that during the attack he also grabbed a private area of her body, and he then forced her and their 2-small children into a vehicle and told her that he was going to have another man rape her, but when contacted by police, that man said he knew nothing of the attack. Jones was arrested for the attack and taken to jail.

Jury selection in the case is expected to begin Tuesday in front of Judge Tim Chambers.
