HUTCHINSON, Kan. — You may recall that the trial for Jerry Anderson Jr. was delayed when he was arrested on federal charges.

Anderson was charged with aggravated robbery after he allegedly walked into LoanMax Title Loans and demanded money at gunpoint. He got away with about $1,400 in the 2015 robbery and left in a black four-door automobile. Officers found that car at a residence Anderson shares with Adina Smith.

Anderson’s district court trial is now underway in front of District Judge Trish Rose.

Anderson also faces federal charges after an indictment was handed down in March that alleged he entered the Meritrust Credit Union at 2900 S. Oliver in Wichita and passed a note to one of the tellers stating, “This is a robbery, nothing funny, give me the money.”

He left the credit union with approximately $3,100.

That case is still pending.
