A 35-year-old Turon man accused of kidnapping and meth charges in two separate case was in District Court Wednesday where Judge Joe McCarville found there was enough evidence to send the meth case to arraignment and possible trial.

The kidnapping case against Justin Armstrong was continued until November 20, because the victim in the case was not present for the hearing.

The meth case goes back to July 26, of last year. In that case, Armstrong is accused of attempting to flee a deputy just south of Langdon and the chase lasted about 5-miles before Armstrong allegedly put his Honda Accord in a ditch west of Jordan Springs on Parallel Road and he along with Guy Currie ran from the scene.

The vehicle was searched and allegedly several items consistent with the manufacture of methamphetamine were found. Drug Unit Detective Jeremy Hedges testified Wednesday morning to the items found at the scene when the drug unit was called into to handle the alleged meth lab.

He testified to finding coleman fuel, professional drain cleaner, rock salt, lithium batteries, empty boxes of sudafed pills, and several containers with grunge and residue. He says doesn’t believe they had finsihed making the meth when the lab was found.

Currie was also arrested that night because he was in the area where the chase started and his drivers license and clothes were found in the vehicle. He was sentenced last week in this case.

The kidnapping case alleges he held his estranged girlfriend against her will. The two were apparently coming to Hutchinson from Turon last February and got into an argument, and at some point she wanted out of the vehicle and he wouldn’t let that happen. She at some point was able to call 911, and was then free from him.

Again that case, continued till next month.
