2 arrested on drug charges after allegedly shooting up on heroin

Syringe

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two people were taken to the hospital on Saturday after they allegedly ran into a home trying to avoid police, then used syringes to inject themselves with a substance that caused both of them to lose consciousness. The resident says they didn’t know the two, went into the bathroom and witnessed them shoot up.

Tasha Marie Kane and Dustin Bright were both taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center where they were treated, then taken to jail.

The substance, according to statements made in court, was heroin and allegedly more syringes were found when the two were arrested.

Potential charges include possession of opiates and drug paraphernalia.

Kane’s bond is $7,500 and Bright’s is at $12,500. Both will be back in court next week.
