NICKERSON, Kan. — A two-vehicle accident injured one person Tuesday afternoon in northwest Reno County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports that vehicles driven by 28-year-old Lawrence Wanjau of Wichita and 49-year-old Bonnie Gillespie of Sterling were going north on K-14, when they tried to pass a slower car at the same time. The incident forced Wanjau’s pick up into the ditch where it rolled several times. A passenger in the truck, 28-year-old Shirley Wanjau, was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center for treatment. There were no other injuries.

The accident happened around 2:30 about 6 miles west of Nickerson.
