HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A two-vehicle accident Sunday morning resulted in minor injuries and one arrest. 

The Reno County Sheriff’s Office reports that 51-year-old John Schumate of Newton was going east of US-50 when he approached an SUV along the side of the road without its lights on. The vehicle, driven by 21-year-old Amanda Yoder of Hutchinson, suddenly attempted a left turn onto Mayfield Road and was hit broadside by Schumate. Schumate was treated for a minor leg injury at the scene while Yoder was uninjured.  After further investigation, she was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The accident happened around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
