Two injured in Hutchinson accident

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Police graphicTwo people were injured, one critically, in a two-vehicle accident involving a car and truck at the intersection of 5th and Monroe around 1:20 this afternoon.

According to Hutchinson Police, a Nisly Brothers refuse rollback truck driven by 56-year-old J.H. Nisly was going east  on 5th Ave when it collided with the south bound car driven by 21-year-old Micaela Landrum of McPherson. Police say two unbiased witness at the scene reported that Landrum ran a red light.  The Nisly Truck was equipped with a video system which confirmed witness statements.

Landrum was transported to Hutchinson Regional  for minor cuts and bruises. A passenger in the vehicle, a 2 year old female, was transported to Hutchinson Regional and then by air to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Ks.  for undetermined head injuries.

All persons involved in the collision  were properly restrained in seat belts and child restraint.  No citations have been issued at this time as the collision is still under investigation by the Hutchinson Police Dept Traffic Bureau
