Drought conditions continue for much of Kansas and expand into additional counties which has led Governor Sam Brownback to update the Drought Declaration to include two more central Kansas counties.

McPherson and Rice Counties were added to the central Kansas area. Reno, Pratt, Stafford and Kingman are already under the drought emergency.

In all 29 Kansas Counties are under the drought emergency while still others are under lesser advisories.  The McPherson state fishing lake has been made available for withdrawals while that county is under the emergency declaration.
