The final two suspects that Hutchinson Police have been looking for since a Hutchinson man was beaten and stabbed numerous times in his torso and legs were arrested this afternoon.

Police had been looking for 19-year-old Desmond Xavier Cantu and 19-year-old Troy Lavon Bell with both having active warrants for attempted 1st degree murder.

It started Friday afternoon when Hutchinson Police were doing surveillance on a home in the 300 block of West 1st. They apparently saw Cantu coming from the home and that led to a short chase in vehicles, but ended when he bailed and ran into a home in the 200 block of West B.

According to Police Sgt. Tyson Myers, he entered the home from the back and eventually came out the front door where he was taken into custody. There were two people inside this home and he apparently didn’t know them. That means he faces two additional charges including aggravated burglary and felony interference with law enforcement.

Troy Bell was also found a short time later in the 300 block of West B and was also taken into custody. He was inside a home with people he apparently knew.

Both men were being booked into the Reno County Jail late Friday afternoon.

The two will face the same charges as 18-year-old Joseph Jay Leshore who turned himself into law enforcement. He’s is jailed on a 250-thousand dollar bond and has been formally charged with attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and aggravated burglary. In court, he was read the formal complaint and his case will now move to a waiver-status docket on March 20.

Jordon LeShore made a first appearance on the charges against him this past Wednesday and his case also moves to a waiver-status docket.

Another man arrested in this case, Sean Arevalo is charged with aggravated burglary, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery, and interference with law enforcement. He’s free on a bond of 16-thousand, 500-dollars. He will make a first appearance on February 26.

Police say the incident started at around 11:40 p-m Monday night when several people allegedly forced open the door at 633 East 4th and once inside Payne was physically attacked and stabbed. He remains in critical, but stable condition at a Wichita hospital.
