Two plead guilty to distributing heroin in Wichita

WICHITA – Two people have pleaded guilty to distributing heroin in Wichita. 28-year-old Patrice Chadwick of Wichita pleaded guilty to one count of distributing heroin and one count of using the U.S. postal system in furtherance of drug trafficking. 30-year-old Christopher Schneider of Rose Hill pleaded guilty to one count of distributing heroin.

In her plea, Chadwick admitted that on Oct. 4, 2010, co-defendant Karen McCann delivered 50 bindles of heroin to a Dillon’s store near Georgetown and Harry and distributed it to Chadwick by leaving it in the bathroom for Chadwick to pick up and deliver to co-defendant Jermaine Ward.

Chadwick also admitted that on Oct. 13, 2010, co-defendant Jamel Ward mailed 100 bindles of heroin from New York to Wichita. The package was addressed to Chadwick at an address on South Holyoke in Wichita. Chadwick went to that address and waited for the package to be delivered.

In his plea, Schneider admitted that on Oct. 20, 2010, he delivered two bags of heroin to co-defendant Jennifer Mathews at her work place in Andover. Mathews had ordered the heroin from co-defendant Jermaine Ward.

Chadwick is set for sentencing Jan. 30. She faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $1 million on the distribution charge and a maximum penalty of five years and a fine up to $250,000 on the mail charge.

Schneider is set for sentencing Jan. 30. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $1 million.

Other defendants in the case include 28-year-old Jermaine Ward, 21-year-old Cody Martin and 19-year-old Dylan Martin both of Haysville, 22-year-old Kyle Jackson of Andover, 28-year-old
Jennifer Matthews of Oklahoma City, 48-year-old Karen McCann of Independence and 33-year-old Donald Luke Huckins, of Rose Hill. All are set for sentencing on December 19.

27-year-old Bryan Phillips, of Wichita is set for trial Dec. 13, 32-year-old Jamel Ward of Wichita is set for sentencing Jan. 9, and 33-year-old Eric Stine of Augusta is set for sentencing Jan. 23.
