Two separate accidents kills two, injures two in Sedgwick County

WICHITA – A Rose Hill woman was killed in a one vehicle accident during the noon hour Friday. Killed was 50-year-old Dianna L. Hanna.

Sedgwick County officials say she was the only person in the vehicle when it crashed between Derby and Rose Hill in the 7000 block of south 127th Street East.

She was transported to Wesley Medical Center with what thought to be non-life threatening injuries, but once at the hospital her condition quickly deteriorated and she was pronounced dead just after 4:30 p-m Friday afternoon.

How the accident occurred was not released by Sedgwick County Sheriff Officials.

And, on Thursday, one person was killed while another was injured in a motorcycle accident in west Wichita.

Killed was the passenger, 19-year-old Mallory Scofield of Wichita. She was riding on the motorcycle driven by 21-year-old Joshua Wynn, also of Wichita.

The vehicle was northbound on 135th West traveling at a high rate of speed, which apparently started with a law enforcement chase, however, law enforcement ended the chase before the accident because of the motorcycle going into a residential neighborhood. The motorcycle apparently hit a curb and both occupants were ejected.

Wynn was taken to Via-Cristi St. Francis Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Neither were wearing a helmet according to the Kansas Highway Patrol who are investigating the accident.
