HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The United Way of Reno County 2016-2017 fundraising campaign is underway. It started Thursday and runs through November 18th.

The goal for this year is to raise $1,446,000. United Way supports programs and initiatives among the following community building blocks, education, income, and health.

Gifts to United Way stay local. It helps support 26 agencies in Reno County, plus supports the collective efforts of our community to find permanent solutions to stubborn, community-level social problems such as ensuring more kids arrive “ready” and succeed in school, helping more families achieve financial stability and fostering people’s wellness and a healthy community.

Russ Reinert, former CPA and retired CFO of a local bank, will lead the charge as the volunteer Campaign Chair for the second consecutive year.

There are approximately 200 volunteers working throughout the community to drop off a workplace campaign packet. These volunteers will be asking to schedule a short presentation at local organizations so that everyone can learn more about how a gift impacts so much throughout the community.
