USD 308 approves classified, administrative pay

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The USD 308 School Board in Hutchinson Monday approved pay scale increases for both classified and administrative staff members.

Pay for licensed staff will be set during negotiations later this summer with NEA-Hutchinson.

Under the proposal adopted by the board, the classified and administrative pay schedules will provide an average increase in pay of 4.5%. The proposal does not impact the salary of incoming superintendent Mike Folks because the superintendent is not on the salary matrix.

The raises will be applied to the salary scale for each group that allows for step movement and base salary increase. Because of variations in the different salary groups and the varying steps for each group, the salaries will not all be exactly 4.5%. Some will be slightly higher and some will be slightly lower, but the raises will all be close to that range.

The board also approved the low bid of $121,492 from Ward Davis Builders to construct a press box on the competition soccer field at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

They also approved meal prices for the coming school year. Student meal prices are unchanged, but federal regulations require that adult prices be raised a nickel for breakfast to $2.20 and a dime for lunch to $3.75.
