HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Officials from Hutchinson Public Schools say they did not receive or use chicken that was part of a major recall by Tyson Foods.

Tyson recalled more than 190,000 pounds of ready-to-eat chicken fritters because some may contain hard plastic, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection.

The frozen ready-to-eat chicken fritters being recalled were handed out to institutional food service locations and not sold in supermarkets or grocery stores.

Officials said they were notified last Wednesday about reports of three people finding “foreign material” in the breaded chicken fritters that were handed out at schools.

People did not report any injuries or other adverse reactions after eating the chicken fritters.
