HUTCHINSON, Kan. — USD 308 officials and Hutchinson Police are investigating a possible school threat.

District spokesperson Ray Hemman says parents were sent a statement regarding the threat:

“Hutchinson Middle School-8 became aware of a possible threat Wednesday when a student contacted building staff after reading a private message on social media. Hutchinson Police investigated the threat and have detained the students involved.”

Students and staff may see additional law enforcement presence near schools today.
