GREAT BEND – The Great Bend School District’s Director of Business and Operations has applied for a superintendent position in Newton.

Dan Brungardt is one of three candidates for the superintendent position at the Newton School District.

Brungardt has been with the Great Bend district for over 20-years, starting out as an elementary school principal, and then the Great Bend Middle School Principal before becoming the district’s director of Business and Operations.

John Norton, the former Newton Superintendent has reportedly left the Newton School District to take over as the Topeka School District Superintendent.
