Valley Center area crimes being investigated

SEDGWICK COUNTY — The Police Department in Valley Center was dispatched to a disturbance in the 1300 block of South Meridian in Valley Center on Sunday. They then asked for assistance from the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Department to investigate the case. They determined that a crime had occurred at the residence.

Through follow-up investigation, it was determined that 33-year-old Scottie W. Goodpaster Jr. is missing and foul play is alleged. He’s pictured above.

It was determined the white 2001 Chevy Quad Cab truck that the Sheriff’s Office was looking for was located. The truck had been in the Newton, Hesston and in rural areas of Harvey County.

Three suspects have been arrested. 42-year-old Heidi Hillard, 49-year-Jeff Hillard, both of Valley Center are being booked into jail for two counts of aggravated kidnapping, two counts of aggravated battery and one count of rape. A 3rd suspect, 39-year-old Brian Bussart from Wichita will also be booked into jail for two counts of aggravated kidnapping and two counts of aggravated battery.

If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Willie Earl Morris or observed the white Chevy truck in the Newton, Hesston or Harvey County area Sunday afternoon, you’re asked to call the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office at 316-660-5300, 911 or Crime Stoppers at 316- 267-2111.
