Vera Mae Nisly | 1930 – 2019 |

Vera Mae Nisly, 89, of Hutchinson, died August 1, 2019, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. She was born June 17, 1930, in Hutchinson, to Edward D. and Elizabeth (Yoder) Nisly.

Vera was a graduate of the Grace Hospital School of Nursing Program and attended Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, VA. She was employed as a registered nurse at Grace Hospital and then Hutchinson Hospital. Vera was a member of Center Amish Mennonite Church, Hutchinson.

She is survived by: sister, Barbara (David) Miller, South Hutchinson; brothers, William (Elizabeth) Nisly, Hutchinson, Harley Nisly, Hutchinson, Lester (Edna) Nisly, South Carolina, Larry (Barbara) Nisly, Hutchinson, John (Sara Mae) Nisly, Hutchinson; sisters-in-law, Iva Nisly and Cora Nisly; brother-in-law, Paul Nisly; 42 nieces and nephews; 164 great-nieces and great-nephews; and 30 great-great nieces and great-great nephews. Vera was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Daniel Nisly and Elmer Nisly; sister, Laura Nisly; two nieces and nephews; and three great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2019, at Center Amish Mennonite Church, 7611 W. Morgan Avenue, Hutchinson, with Pastors Dwight Miller, Dwight Nisly, Don Miller, and Brad Nisly officiating. Burial will follow in West Center Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2019, at the church.
