How hot was it in the month of July? According to figures released by the National Weather Service, it was one of the hottest on record.

Hutchinson saw an average high temperature of 103 for the month. That’s 10-degrees warmer than the average of 93.

There were 23-days out of the 31 where the high was above 100. 18 of those were above 105 and three of those were above 110 including the 113 July 26th and the 112 on July 10th.

It was dry as well as the area normally receives about 4.2-inches of rain during the month.

While some areas did receive more due to very widely scattered thunderstorms over the past two weeks, on the average the area received about 37/100ths of an inch of precipitation.

By this time of the year, the area should have received about 19-inches of precipitation. So far
