SCOTT CITY – A 16-year-old from Scott City was Killed Monday evening after he rolled his vehicle on a rural road and was ejected from the vehicle.

Killed was Timothy Dirks who according to the Kansas Highway Patrol was westbound on Scott County Road 270. He apparently drove off the road into the north ditch, came back on the roadway in a sideways slide, turning counter clockwise. The vehicle then rolled on its top, then back on its wheels in the south ditch and ejected from Dirks from the vehicle. The Silverado pickup then rolled a second time, landing on its wheels in a field facing the southeast.

The accident occurring just after 9:30 p-m, in Scott County.
