Tonight: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. South southeast wind between 15 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Chances for showers & thunderstorms are gradually increasing this weekend as an intense cyclone sprints northeast ove the Northwestern Plains.

This will enable a surface situated over the Western Plains to strengthen…thereby enabling richer moisture to surge northeast across Kansas. The best chances for thunderstorms will occur over Central and South-Central Kansas where 40-50 mph gusts may occur.

A cooling trend is also anticipated with highs cooling from around 80 degrees on Friday to around 70 on Sunday.
