What started off as an investigation of sexual assault charges being filed in Sedgwick County has led to a 50-year-old Wichita man being charged here in Reno County with rape and aggravated sexual battery.

Jodie Mosier is alleged to have raped a 32-year-old woman at M&M Point at Cheney Lake back in May of 2010. That is the same victim as reported in Sedgwick County.

Apparently, officials with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office were told of the sexual assault in that county after the 32-year-old victim contacted law enforcement there. They seized computers from Moser and apparently found evidence of the crime of rape here in Reno County. Officials here then began the investigation leading to Moser being arrested on a 50-thousand dollar warrant.

Sheriff Detective Darrian Campbell says that the woman apparently had been drinking at the lake and passed out, and that’s when the alleged sexual assault occurred.

Mosier has since bonded and will make a court appearance on a future date.
