TOPEKA – A Wichita resident has won a 2011 Chevrolet® Camero Coupe 2SS in the Muscle Car Money second-chance drawing held September 18 at the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson.
45-year-old Vernon Coleman II was the lucky winner of the beautiful muscle car. In addition to the vehicle, the prize also includes all mandatory state and federal income withholding taxes and initial taxes and fees, bringing the total value of the prize to approximately $57,000.
“When Lottery officials called me, I was busy and didn’t answer the phone,” said Coleman. “After hearing the message that I won the car, I called them back right away. What a surprise!”
Coleman will receive his new muscle car during the NASCAR racing weekend at Kansas Speedway in October. The Lottery will release details of the vehicle presentation later this month.
Winning entries for the second-chance drawing were non-winning $5 Muscle Car Money instant scratch tickets. Players could also win up to $25,000 instantly playing the game.
“I think I mailed 10 to 20 tickets for the drawing,” said Coleman. “Although it only takes one ticket to win, I wanted to make sure I had plenty of entries in for the car. Apparently, I did!”
Coleman, who’s single, is a truck driver for Locke Supply Company.
