Super-cell thunderstorms are possible this afternoon and evening for locations generally west of Interstate 135. Tornadoes, large hail greater than two inches in diameter and damaging winds in excess of 70 mph will be possible. On Thursday and Friday the severe weather threat will begin to shift southeast impacting locations along and southeast of the Kansas Turnpike.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Windy. Lows 65 to 70. South winds 25 to 30 mph decreasing to 15 to 25 mph after midnight. Gusts up to 35 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Thursday: Mostly cloudy in the morning then becoming mostly sunny. A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs 80 to 85. Southwest winds 5 to 15 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the mid 60s. Southeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Partly sunny with a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 80s. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph becoming north in the afternoon.
