Woman hospitalized after semi crash in Pratt County

PRATT COUNTY — A woman was injured in an accident just before 1:30 p.m. on Thursday in Pratt County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Ford passenger vehicle driven by Mary L. Morrissey, 53, Grove, Oklahoma, was westbound on U.S. 54, following a 2009 Freightliner semi.

Morrissey began to pass as the semi driven by Joseph R. Vinduska, 32, Great Bend, slowed to make a left turn onto southwest 80th.

The semi struck the right side of the Ford.

The Ford then rolled onto its top facing northeast in the westbound lanes.

Morrissey was transported to the hospital in Pratt. Vinduska was not injured.

Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
