A woman who was struck by a hit and run driver on the 281 by-pass near Great Bend Saturday night has died from her injuries. According to the Great Bend Police Department, 33-year old Rhiannon Young of Hoisington died in a Wichita hospital Saturday night after being flown there after the accident.

Authorities were notified shortly before 8:30 p-m, Saturday about a person lying near the roadway near the Harms softball and baseball complex on the bypass. Authorities found Young near the road with head injuries. She was transported the Great Bend Regional Hospital and later to Wichita where she passed away.

Authorities continue to look for a large, white SUV, possibly a Ford Expedition or Tahoe, with front-end damage. A person of interest has been contacted but no arrests have been made.
