The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce Membership Breakfast will feature Dr. Elizabeth Ablah, a worksite wellness expert, as the guest speaker.
The breakfast, sponsored by Cargill Salt, is from 7:00 a-m – 8:00 a-m, next Wednesday at the Ramada Conference Center, 1400 N. Lorraine St. in Hutchinson.
Dr. Ablah is an associate professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health at the University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita. Her research interests include community-based participatory research, physical activity and healthy foods, the built environment, worksite wellness, and health impact assessments. During the breakfast, Dr. Ablah will be presenting on the importance of developing a worksite wellness strategy for businesses and what employers need to do to encourage a healthy, vibrant company culture.
Dr. Ablah is also a facilitator for WorkWell Kansas, a statewide worksite wellness initiative. This program collaborated with the Community Development Division of the Chamber to provide training on instituting comprehensive wellness strategies to 18 Reno County businesses in 2013.
Both members of the Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce and non-members are invited to attend this breakfast. The cost is $10.00 per person for members and $15.00 for non-members.
