Yutzy named 1st quarter Impact Award winner in USD 312

HAVEN, Kan. — Haven USD 312 announced Monday that Yoder Charter School teacher Kim Yutzy has been selected as the Impact Award winner for the first quarter.

Mrs. Yutzy has served in the district for a total of 12 years. She has served as a paraprofessional and teacher. She has taught at Partridge Grade School and Yoder Charter School, where she currently teaches vocal music, band and physical education.

Here’s what her nominators had to say:

Personal Characteristics:
“Kim is a fun, flexible, accommodating person. She continues to do a fantastic job with music, but is
now doing an amazing job with PE as well. We can hear joyous screams and laughter from the fun
challenges and games she has prepared for her students.”

Impact on students, staff, district and community:
“Students seem to have a good bond with Mrs. Yutzy. She has a very sweet, loving personality. She
also has a great sense of humor, which the students enjoy. Our students know she is there for them
whenever they need her.” “She has an excellent relationship with the staff and is always willing to
change her schedule to help accommodate various activities throughout the school year.”

Projects/Programs/Activities Created or Involved in:
“Her students participate in various music programs throughout the school year. They also
participate in Mass Band every year. Mrs. Yutzy is now also in charge of planning and executing
Field Day every year at Yoder Charter. She is also very active in the school Redesign process. She is
very willing to be involved with anything that goes on at Yoder with a very positive attitude.”

The USD 312 Employee of the Year program selects an Impact Award winner each quarter with one of these four individuals being chosen as the Employee of the Year in May. Staff, students and parents are able to make nominations each quarter.

Yutzy will be recognized during tonight’s Haven USD 312 Board meeting starting at 6 p.m. at the Haven school district offices.
