Jack Okey Elliott, 83, of Hutchinson, died Feb. 19, 2018, at Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. He was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Hutchinson, the son of Okey Lee and Sylbia G. (Hanning) Elliott.

Jack graduated from Buhler High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. He served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959, and then in the reserves until 1963. Jack worked as a livestock buyer for Winchester Packing for many years. He also was a wool-buyer for Mid-States Wool. He retired as a truck driver for Dillon’s. Jack grew up in the Bethany Nazarene Church and was a member of the American Legion Post 68, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 982, and Teamsters Local 795.

On April 6, 1959, he married Lynda Lou Dale in Kelso, Washington. She survives. Other survivors include: sons, Mark Elliott (Amy) of Hutchinson, Timothy Elliott (Elizabeth) of Prole, IA; daughter, Laniece Bakeberg of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Kyle Bakeberg, Ryan Bakeberg, Lanie Bakeberg, Sarah Blackford (Kyle), Zachary Elliott, Benjamin Elliott, Rachel Elliott, Nathaniel Elliott, Nicholas Elliott, Samuel Elliott; one great-grandchild on the way; and sister, Carol Redd of Buhler.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Floyd Redd.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, 2018, at Elliott Chapel. Military honors will be conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may sign the memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday at Elliott Mortuary.

Larry ‘Dick’ Whittle, 68, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born January 13, 1950, in Hutchinson, to Richard and June (Dressler) Whittle.

Dick graduated Nickerson High School in 1968. He served in the United States Navy from 1969-1971. Dick worked at Budweiser, Town Pump Market, and Egbert Liquor, retiring from Kutter’s Direct Imports as a salesman.

He is survived by: daughter, Amy Whitson of Wichita; brother, Rick Whittle of Martinsburg, West Virginia; sisters, Marcia Mendenhall (Doug), Donna Fagan, all of Hutchinson; granddaughters, Hannah and Rheagan Whitson, all of Wichita; niece, Kim Utsler of Hutchinson; nephews, Eric Burk of Hutchinson, Mike Cochran of Winfield; and many, many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson.

Jeanette Jean ‘Net’, Dwerlkotte, 45, died Friday, February 16, 2018, at her home. She was born October 6, 1972, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Robert F. Dwerlkotte Sr. and Linda Jean (White) McDowell.

She was a 1994 graduate of Hutchinson High School. Net was member of Full Gospel Church and had worked for Disability Supports, Carlos O’Kelly’s, and Carolyn’s Essenhaus, Arlington.

Some of her favorite pastimes were doing word search, playing Bingo and dancing.

Jeanette is survived by: her father and mother, both of Hutchinson; brother, Robert Jr.; sister, Amanda Townley and husband Jon of Pretty Prairie; 3 step brothers; 3 step sisters; a nephew; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her step-dad Wayne White; Grandpa and Grandma McDowell; and Grandpa and Grandma Kathe.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018, at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Betty Pinkston presiding. Friends may sign her register book from today through Thursday, with family present from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday at Elliott Mortuary and Crematory, Hutchinson.

Eugene Lee “Gene” Mathis, 81, died February 16, 2018, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born February 15, 1937, in Hutchinson, the son of Edgar and Bertha (Smith) Mathis. Gene was a truck driver for Graves Truck Line and the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Teamsters Local 795.

On January 7, 1983, Gene married Sandra Ruble in Hutchinson. She survives.

Other survivors include: sons, Dan Mathis (Pam), Chad Mathis (Alex, Shannin), Eugene L. Mathis Jr., all of Hutchinson; daughter, Cindy Estes (Mark) of South Hutchinson; sister, Wilma Harrelson of Porter, TX; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his beloved dog, Princess.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Kenny; brothers, Jay and Edward; and brother-in-law, Glen Harrelson.

Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W 4th Ave., Hutchinson. Memorials may be made to Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Betty Lou Randolph, 91, died February 16, 2018, at Good Samaritan Society, Hutchinson Village. She was born February 14, 1927, in Kingman, the daughter of Herbert M. and Mamie A. (Brawner) Hopkins. Betty graduated from Kingman High School in 1944. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a department manager for K-Mart.

On January 6, 1973, Betty married Sobe L. ‘Randy’ Randolph in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives.

Other survivors include: daughters, Debra Randolph-Sabin of Bakersfield, CA, Tina Simmons of Stillwater, OK, Diane Holder of Bakersfield, CA, Sharon Slack of Visalia, CA, Dawnell Burgess of Enid, OK; sister, Mary Hightower of Hutchinson; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Donna Hunter; and brothers, Kenneth, Laverne, and Kirby Hopkins.

Cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Kingman. Memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Society, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Maxine L. Lundstrom, age 93, resident of Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, Kansas, died February 15, 2018, after a short illness.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Cecil U. Lundstrom; and sisters, Vita Chapman, Iva Fern Heidebrecht, and Aline Oswalt.

Maxine is survived by: sister, Ella Keesling Collins; and brother, George Keesling; daughter, Debbie and husband Chuck Wilds; son, Richard and wife Renee Lundstrom; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was born in Sylvia, Kansas, on August 16, 1924, to Ivory and Violet Keesling and raised on the family farm as the oldest of six siblings. Maxine graduated from Kansas State University in 1949, and then worked as a social worker until marrying in 1951.
