Judy Sue Wyatt, 69, of South Hutchinson, died Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born November 13, 1948, in Syracuse, KS, the daughter of Charles and Olive (Gregory) Bowker.

Judy attended Syracuse High School and business college in Great Bend. She worked as a cook for various area nursing homes.

Judy is survived by: daughter, Skyla Todd and husband Jamie of Syracuse; sons, Brent Cress and wife Marleisa of Hutchinson, Jeff West and wife Lori of Plevna; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie Bowker and wife Marilyn of Gun Barrel City, TX; brother-in-law, Jimmy Hill of Syracuse; several nieces, nephews, and stepchildren. She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Ronald D. Hunt; sisters, Delores Bowker, Donna Hill and Rita West.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will take place at a later date in Syracuse Cemetery. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

Richard Allen Biggs, 57, of South Hutchinson, died October 4, 2018. He was born March 2, 1961, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Wayne and Frances (Beeson) Biggs.

Richard was a 1986 graduate of Hutchinson High School and a 1989 graduate of Hutchinson Community College. He was a woodworker and carpenter for Miller Construction and a member of Maranatha Mennonite Church.

Survivors include son, James and siblings, Barbara Brown and Mike Biggs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Tom “Tommy” Biggs and a sister, Debbie McCracken.

Dana K. Brown, 87, of South Hutchinson, died Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Hospice House. She was born February 2, 1931, in Hutchinson to Daniel and Cecile (Glover) Hamer.

Dana graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1949. She owned ‘Dana’s Dolls’ until 2003, and taught classes on how to make porcelain dolls. Dana worked for the Kansas State Fair for 38 years primarily in the security office. She also participated in the Citizen’s Police Academy.

On September 16, 1952, she married Donald ‘Don’ Brown. He died June 8, 2012.

Survivors include: daughters, Donna Kaufman of Hutchinson, and Carolyn Loepp of Tulsa; five grandchildren, Breean Akins with husband Adam, Kristen Kaufman, Cody Loepp, Micah Kaufman with Andrea Winnett, and Kayla Robinson with husband Cliff; six great-grandchildren, Lidia Reeves, Halynn, Rylea, and Kaylea Robinson and Kinlee and Harper Akins.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; brother, William ‘Bill’ Hamer; and son-in-law, Les Loepp.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be 3 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2018, at Elliott Mortuary with Pastor Tim Adrian officiating. Dwight Arlo Burton, 99, of South Hutchinson, died October 5, 2018, at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. He was born April 29, 1919, in Plainville, the son of James E. and Daisy E. (Bair) Burton.

Dwight graduated from Plainville High School and Salt City Business College, Hutchinson. He worked as an accountant for Far-Mar-Co for many years until his retirement. Dwight was a 33rd Degree Mason and member and past Master of the Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite, High 12 Club, and Midian Shrine Scooter Patrol. He was of the Presbyterian faith.

On September 17, 1941, he married Norma ‘Jane’ Low at Phillipsburg. They shared almost 74 years of marriage before her death on September 7, 2015.

Dwight is survived by: daughter, Chyrl Buck (Mike) of Basehor; son, Randy Burton of Olathe; grandchildren, Nathan Burton, Nichole DeLeon, Randy Burton Jr., Jennifer Holmes, and Jason Buck; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, J.D.; brothers, Ronald and Roy.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday, and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Elliott Mortuary. Robert D. ‘Bob’ Tracy, 83, of Hutchinson, died Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born July 7, 1935, in Convoy, Ohio, to Albert and Helen (Naylor) Tracy.

Bob graduated from Rockford High School in 1954 and Northern Virginia Community College with honors in 1975. He retired as an aircraft mechanic for Wells Aircraft Inc., in Hutchinson, after 22 years. In Bob’s free time, he bowled for numerous years. He was a member of American Legion Lysle Rishel Post #68, V.F.W. Bob Campbell Post #1361, Elks Lodge #453, Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2550, and Loyal Order of Moose #982. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Navy, retiring with nearly 30 years of service.

On December 21, 1956, he married Donna Beckner in Hutchinson. She died January 4, 2005.

Survivors include: sons, Timothy Tracy and wife Crystal of Nickerson, and Robert Tracy of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Angela White with companion Chris Graham of Wichita; long-time companion, Melba Smith; nine grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife; and a great-grandchild.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Elliott Mortuary, with Pastor Nick Huck officiating. Burial will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park. Duane Joseph Lang, 69, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born August 25, 1949, in Ogallah, the son of Constantine J. (Dean) and Lauraine A. (Herman) Lang.

Duane graduated from St. Joseph’s Military Academy, Hays, in 1967, and Fort Hays State University in 1971. He worked for many years in the corporate offices of State Farm Insurance Company in Bloomington, Illinois. Duane was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, Hutchinson, the Knights of Columbus, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.

The oldest of three children, Duane lost his own father at a young age and grew up working the alfalfa fields around his house in Ellis, playing sports with his brother, friends, and cousins in the school gymnasium at St. Mary’s Catholic Church across the street, and trying to keep his Chevrolet Corvair running. Even though he moved around throughout his life, the Kansas countryside was always home to him, and he loved a long walk with a view of the horizon.

A loyal and loving man, Duane was a gentle soul who never hesitated to help another, regardless of his own struggles. Even after cancer had ravaged his body, he still insisted on stopping to help someone carry groceries or push a stalled car. A long-suffering (but once-celebrating) Chicago Cubs fan, he also loved a good game of tennis (and even a bad one), could not watch a Chevy Chase movie without tearful laughter, and fully immersed himself in whatever TV show or activity his grandchildren loved. He leaves behind a legacy of ‘dad jokes’ (now ‘grandpa jokes’) that will live on for decades.

Duane loved classic cars, classic rock, and one classic woman. On November 30, 1974, he married Connie L. Rice in Columbia, Missouri. They were married for nearly 44 years. She survives.

Also surviving are: sons, Jeff (Sonja) of Overland Park, Craig of Lawrence; daughters, Laura Berlin (Noah) of Bethesda, Maryland, Kristin Loucks of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Patrick Lang, Aaliyah Loucks, Calvin, Violet, and Elodie Berlin; sister, Gloria Dreher (Darrell) of Collinsville, Oklahoma; brother, Verlyn Lang (Denise) of Wichita; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents.

A Parish Rosary will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 13, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th Ave., Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at the church, with Father Mike Maybrier officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Rettsyndrome.org, or the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
