Thornton Lewis ‘Todd’ White, aka ‘Rooster’, 83, took his final lap around the race track for the checkered flag on October 3, 2019.  He was born October 22, 1935, in Wichita, to Thomas and Thelma (Tracy) White. Todd grew up in Belmont and moved to Hutchinson in his early adulthood, where he resided until his death. From the age of 17 until retirement, he worked in the grain industry. Todd’s life was full of adventure and he touched the hearts of so many people.

In 1953, Todd married Patty Wells and they had four children. In 1981, he married Beverly Culver. She survives.

Also surviving are: children, Debbie (Mike) Zarnowski, Marsha (Jim) Barnes, Rick (Rondi) Caywood, all of Hutchinson, Julie (Wes) Cooper, Houston, TX; siblings, Lonnie (Betty) Tracy, Diana Samuelson, all of Wichita; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; sons, Ty and Hoby; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and brothers, Gerald and Merle.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 7, 2019, at First United Methodist, 101 E. 1^st Ave., with Pastor Mic McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-8 p.m., with the family present from 5-7 p.m., Sunday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First United Methodist Church or American Heart Association, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Alice “Shelli” Dunlap, 56, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019, at her home in Hutchinson, KS.

Shelli was born December 28, 1962, in Hutchinson, KS, the daughter of Loretta Proper. Shelli enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, reading and listening to music. She was an avid player of Second Life; a computer game. She was also a member of The Father’s House.

Shelli was preceded in death by her mother Loretta; brother, Jerry Tipton and several Aunts and Uncles.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Dunlap Jr.; children, Machelle David, Jared Day, Dominick McKenna and Luke Edison; sisters, Sherri Erwin, Sonia Rohr and Shana Sharrai; and 10 grandchildren.

There will be no public visitation as cremation was chosen. A Celebration of Life is pending and will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Hutchinson Zoo and can be sent in care of the funeral chapel.

Isabelle Mae Gray, 87, of Hutchinson, died September 30, 2019, at Good Samaritan Society, Hutchinson. She was born February 21, 1932, to Wayne and Mattie (Stewart) Kinnison.

Isabelle attended Hutchinson High School. On January 7, 1952, she married John L. Gray, in Hutchinson. They shared 53 years of marriage before his death on November 17, 2005.  Isabelle worked for many years as a caregiver in nursing and mental health settings, including Haven House.

She is survived by her son, Leslie ‘Les’ Gray and wife Liz, Las Vegas; daughter, Debbie Smith and husband Mark, Pretty Prairie; brother, Lott Metzler and wife Evelyn;  and brother,  Nelson ‘Bob’ Metzler Jr. and wife Theda, both of Hutchinson.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Gray; and sister, Phyllis Thompson.

Cremation has taken place.

Dixie Schoepf, 87, died September 30, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born January 29, 1932, on a farm near Sylvia, the youngest of eight children, born to Charles Fredrick and Jennie Ethel (Brown) Buggeln.

Dixie graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1949. She retired after 20 years of service as a secretary for Hutchinson National Bank & Trust Company. In addition, Dixie was involved with the American Cancer Society Board, Cancer Council of Reno County, and was a charter and board member of Haven Community Food Bank. She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, and dearly loved all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dixie was a founding member of the Haven Church of Christ, taking part in their ladies’ Bible study.

Dixie is survived by: son, Rick Schoepf and wife Cheryl of Wichita; daughter, Robin Gingerich and husband Darrell of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Tami Vaughan and husband Brent, Jeremy Schoepf and wife Nicole, Shauna Schoepf-Pearce and husband Skip, Vanessa Martin and husband Jaman; great-grandchildren, Mila and Adley Pearce, Shayde, Harper, and Summer Schoepf, and Austin Vaughan; and Rick and Robin’s father, Shep Schoepf.

She was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers; and four sisters.

Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with Sonny Banning officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Huntsville. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary.

Kenneth ‘Ken’ Edward Keast, 87, of Hutchinson, died September 29, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born October 1, 1931, in LaCrosse, to Frederick Edward and Alice Alberta (Farmer) Keast.

Ken graduated from Hutchinson High School and served in the United States Navy Reserves. He retired from the Kansas Department of Transportation as an equipment operator and worked in the pigeon barn during the Kansas State Fair. Ken was a scoutmaster for his sons’ Boy Scout troop and a lifetime member of First Christian Church, Hutchinson.

On October 12, 1952, he married Verna Mae Graber, in Pretty Prairie. She was the mother of their three children, Fred, Anita and David. Verna died on June 25, 1990. Ken married Norma Lee Henson Anthony on February 14, 1995, in Hutchinson. She died September 4, 2009.

He is survived by: sons, Fred Keast, and David (Cindy) Keast, all of Hutchinson; sister, Monabelle Smith; brother, Robert Keast; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Ken was preceded in death by: his parents; wives, Verna Mae Keast and Norma Lee Henson Anthony Keast; and daughter, Anita Marie Behnke.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2019, at First Christian Church, 15 E. 5th Avenue, Hutchinson, with Pastor Bob Phipps officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Avenue, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary Chapel.
