The Reverend Robert Buzza ‘Bob’ Brooks, 91, of Hutchinson, died Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Hester Care Center, Hutchinson. He was born March 20, 1928, in Glasco, Kansas, to the Reverend Elmer Lincoln and Lois Elizabeth (Buzza) Brooks.

Bob graduated from Mankato High School in 1945, Kansas Wesleyan University in 1948, and Iliff School of Theology in Denver, CO, in 1951. He served as a minister in western and central Kansas of the United Methodist Conference for almost 44 years. Bob was a third-generation United Methodist minister, and was proud when his son, the Reverend Gary Brooks, became a fourth generation minister. For 22 years, Bob served as Chaplain of Wesley Towers Retirement Community, with his faithful wife, Maxine by his side helping him with weekly pastoral services.

On June 3, 1952, he married Maxine Leonora Harris in Cheney. She died December 1, 2010, after sharing 58 years of marriage.

Bob is survived by: son, the Reverend Gary Brooks and wife Jeanne of Wichita; son-in-law, David Boroughs of Lyons; grandchildren, Elizabeth Peterson and husband Matthew of Lyons, Kristi Brooks of Clinton, IA, Kari White and husband Nick of Castle Rock, CO, Kelli Otsuka and husband Kiwamu of Wichita; great-grandchildren, Gage Wood, Emma Peterson, Hannah Dau, Brock White, Kiana Otsuka, Ella White; and sister, Marie Johnson.

Bob was preceded in death by: his parents and daughter, Janet E. Boroughs.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Wesley Towers Evans Chapel, 3709 Asbury Drive, Hutchinson, with Dr. J. Tal Tittsworth officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Elliott Mortuary. Herbert Otto Stange Jr., 85, passed peacefully to heaven and into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Newton Medical Center. He was born March 1, 1934, in Hydro, OK, the son of Herbert Otto and Rebecca May (Folks) Stange.

Herb was raised in Hydro and joined the United States Navy in 1951 and served during the Korean War until 1955. He founded Stange Plumbing Company with his wife, Jean in 1966 and continued to be actively involved in mentoring and teaching the staff until very recently. Herb loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a founding member of CrossPoint Church, where he served as deacon, board member, Sunday school teacher, and prayer team member until illness forced his retirement two years ago.

On November 27, 1954, he married the love of his life, Loretta Jean Stevens, of Abbyville, in San Diego, CA.

Surviving are: Jean, his wife of 64 years; daughters, Karen S. Drake and husband Steven, Hutchinson, Linda S. Edwards and husband Cecil, Dallas, TX, Debbie S. Schmitt and husband Carmen, Great Bend. He was also ‘Grandpa’ and ‘Popo’ to Stephen J. Drake (Sarah), Seguin, TX, Heather D. Bocell (Benjamin), Dallas, TX, Katherine Jean Schmitt, Great Bend, Trip Edwards (Daniella), Seattle, WA, Sarah May Moore (Hudson), Nashville, TN, Brooke Elizabeth Edwards, Dallas, TX; great-grandchildren, Sara Catherine and Luke Benjamin Bocell, Dallas, TX, Hadley May and baby girl Moore (due November 9), Nashville, TN, Lila June and Oliver Gervais Edwards, Seattle, WA. Also surviving are: brother, Joe Stange (Jan), Norman, OK; sisters, Mitzie Klarich (Bobby Swain), Moore, OK, and Betty Siber, Tucson, AZ. Herb was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Jerry Michael Stange.

A celebration of Herb’s life will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2019, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E. 30th Ave., Hutchinson, with Pastor Andy Addis officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, Herb’s wishes were that memorials be given to CrossPoint Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Greg and Pam Nanney, the nurses and staff of Central Cancer Care Center, Great Bend, the hospitalists, nurses, and staff of the Newton Medical Center and the lab technicians at Hutchinson Clinic for their care and support.

Darrell LaVerne Treaster, 87, of Hutchinson, died Friday, July 19, 2019. He was born November 12, 1931, in Beloit, to Ralph and Beryl (Wray) Treaster.

Darrell was a graduate of Beloit High School, a farmer, custom harvester, and an over-the-road truck driver. He drove for Dahlsten and Dillons locally and Dealer’s Transport, Kansas City, MO. Darrell belonged to Forest Park United Presbyterian Church and Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M.

On August 30, 1950, he married Carol J. Mercer in Pretty Prairie. She died June 18, 1971. On July 12, 1972, Darrell married Shirley LaVonne Waggoner in Hutchinson. Surviving are: Shirley, his wife of 47 years; children, Mark and wife Mary of Pretty Prairie, Cynthia Treaster and Sandy Jacquot of LeCompton, Tom of Baldwin City; daughter-in-law, Toni Wood of Mission; sister, Betty Davis of Springfield, MO; eight grandsons; and three great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his parents; son, Steven Darrell; and brother, Donald.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Elliott Chapel, with the Reverend Dr. J. Ted Blakley officiating. Masonic rites will be conducted by Hutchinson-Reno Masonic Lodge #124 A.F. & A.M. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. at Lone Star Cemetery, Pretty Prairie. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.

Marvin Eugene ‘Gene’ McClelland, 80, of Hutchinson, died July 16, 2019, at his residence. He was born May 10, 1939, to Marvin Lee and Love Anna (Alban) McClelland.

Marvin was employed at Eaton Corporation from 1960-2002, as a Service Representative and Warranty Analyst. He attended The Father’s House, Hutchinson.

Marvin is survived by: sons, Marvin E. McClelland, Jr., Hutchinson, Wayne McClelland, Florida, Tony McClelland, McPherson; sisters, Retta Webb, Missouri, Marlene Lafferty, Oklahoma, Frances Boyer, Hutchinson, and Judy Dancey, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, 2019, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel, Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary. Family will greet friends from 9 a.m. to service time on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.

Donald E. Dellinger, 75, died July 18, 2019, at his home.  He was born May 5, 1944, in Hutchinson, to Claud E. and Esther (Timkar) Dellinger.

Donald served in the United States Navy.  He worked for Consolidated Manufacturing in a variety of departments, including transmission. After retirement, he enjoyed working at Benton’s Greenhouse.

On December 18, 1965, he married Shirley Snyder in Nowata, OK.  They shared almost 53 years of marriage.

Donald is survived by:  wife, Shirley; sons, Donald D. Dellinger, Michael D. Dellinger (Kristine), all of Hutchinson; Don Cully of Hastings, NE; brother, Eddie Dellinger; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, with two on the way.

He was preceded in death by:  his parents and brothers, Dale, Jack, and Larry.

Cremation has taken place.  The family will host a gathering at a later date.  Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501 is in charge of arrangements.
