William B. Corley Jr., 97, of Hutchinson, died Friday, November 30, 2018, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born December 21, 1920, in Hutchinson, to Dr. William and Lola (Stutzman) Corley, Sr.

Bill graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Furman University in Greenville, S.C. He owned Bill’s Donut Shop in Larned, KS for numerous years. Bill proudly served in the United States Army in the 712th Military Police Battalion during World War II.

On December 31, 1943, he married Dorothy May Stonesifer in Greenville, S.C. She died August 13, 2009. They shared 65 years of marriage together.

Survivors include: daughter, Reneé Lippincott and husband Dean of Hutchinson, KS; daughter-in-law, Gloria Corley of Doniphan, MO; grandsons, Michael Gaughan and wife Julia of Lawrence, KS, Matthew Corley Lippincott and wife Stephanie of Bellevue, NE, Thomas James (T.J.) Lippincott of Hutchinson, KS, and Nicholas S. Lippincott of Austin, TX; granddaughter, Kelley Lippincott-Chura and husband Jamie of Columbia, TN; great-grandsons, Kiernan Gaughan of Lawrence, KS, Miles Chura of Columbia, TN, and Graham Corley Lippincott of Bellevue, NE; and great-granddaughters, Aoife Lippincott of Bellevue, NE, and Louise May Chura of Columbia, TN.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Dorothy; daughter, Deborah Lynn Gaughan; son, William B. Corley III; and sisters, Thelma Leatherwood and Lucile Hall.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at a later date. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Saturday, December 15, 2018. Charlene ‘Charn’ Cornett began her new life in heaven on December 2, 2018. Charlene was born in Burrton, Kansas, July 27, 1931, to Chester C. and Faye L. Collins.

She was employed by the State Bank of Burrton for 36 years. Charlene was a member of the Burrton United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Eastern Star, and Junior Nova Vista, all of Burrton. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, fishing, singing in the church choir, and sewing. She was a very devoted sister and aunt.

On July 30, 1949, she married William R. Cornett, who preceded her in death December 1, 2015.

Charlene was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold E. Collins and both parents, Chester C. and Faye L. Collins.

Charlene is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie L. and Joseph D. Pearce of Burrton. She was and is loved by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, along with great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Burrton United Methodist Church, 114 West Center Street, Burrton, with Pastor Kim Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Burrton Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Lawrence Vincent ‘Larry’ Ramos, 91, of Hutchinson, died November 29, 2018, at Wheaton House, Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson. He was born January 22, 1927, in Hutchinson, the son of Estanislaus E. and Maria (Cabello) Ramos.

Larry attended Hutchinson High School and Salt City Business College. He served in the United States Army from 1945-1946. Larry worked as a shop supervisor and office manager for Decker & Mattison for 38 years, retiring in 1989. He was a prominent athlete, excelling in basketball, fast-pitch softball, and with his daughter, Jeananne, won the city father/daughter championship in bowling. Larry was an avid Kansas Jayhawks basketball fan and a ticket-holder for the NJCAA men’s basketball tournament for over 50 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, South Hutchinson, where he served on the building committee when the new church was built, and was a member of the Holy Name Society. Larry was a parish dance promoter and a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council 612.

On June 18, 1949, he married Ann Marie Murillo in Hutchinson. She died March 10, 2012.

Larry is survived by: sons, Stan and wife Peggy, Vince and wife Patty, all of Hutchinson, Larry and wife Carole, Wichita, and Mark and wife Mary, Topeka; a daughter, Jeananne Musgrave, Hutchinson; grandchildren, Heather, Adam and wife Mandy, Alex, Nicolas, and Anthony Ramos; great-granddaughter, June Ramos; brother, Tony Ramos and wife Shelia, Topeka; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Ann; son-in-law, Richard Musgrave; brother, Joe; and sister, Rosie Valdez.

Parish rosary will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson. The family will greet friends following the rosary. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at the church, celebrated by Father Juan Garza. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Elliott Mortuary.
